Additionally: Today, we share a copy of the East China University of Science and Technology Library‘s “User Manual for Foreign AI Large Models”, which introduces several foreign large AI models, including GPT series, Gemini series, Claude series, LLaMA, Copilot, and other unique models. The aim is to provide a comprehensive guide to help users understand and utilize foreign AI large models in academic research, teaching development, and other fields to enhance efficiency and innovation.
GPT Series Models (OpenAI):The GPT series models are a revolutionary series of natural language processing (NLP) models developed by OpenAI. The core of this series is based on a multi-layer Transformer structure, which learns the general patterns and structures of language through pre-training on large-scale text corpora, thereby generating natural and coherent text. GPT-4 is the fourth generation of the generative pre-trained Transformer model, representing the latest advancements in NLP technology in the field of artificial intelligence. As a highly advanced language model, GPT-4 demonstrates exceptional capabilities in understanding and generating human language, widely applied in various fields. This section briefly introduces the functionalities, usage methods, techniques, and precautions of GPT-4 to help users better utilize this tool and improve search efficiency.
Gemini Series Models (Google):Gemini is the next-generation multimodal large language model (LLM) developed by DeepMind, the AI research division of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, aimed at competing with models like OpenAI’s GPT-4. Gemini combines DeepMind’s advanced research achievements in AI with Google’s powerful computing resources, representing the forefront of current AI technology. The Gemini series is known for its multimodal processing capabilities, supporting various data types such as text, code, audio, images, and video. This series includes different scale models like Ultra, Pro, and Nano, catering to various needs. Gemini possesses long-context understanding capabilities, supports multiple languages, and enables real-time interaction across various smart devices. The Gemini series models exhibit excellent performance in NLP, image recognition, video generation, and other fields, marking an important milestone for Google’s AI technology. This section briefly introduces the functionalities, usage methods, techniques, and precautions of the Gemini series models to help users better understand and use Gemini, thereby enhancing their life and work efficiency.
Claude Series Models (Anthropic):Claude is a large language model developed by the American AI startup Anthropic, on par with OpenAI’s GPT series. Its core design philosophy is to provide a safe, reliable, and user-friendly conversational AI experience. Compared to other language models, Claude particularly emphasizes interpretability and user control, striving to effectively reduce the risk of generating harmful or inaccurate content through advanced alignment techniques. In the development of Claude, Anthropic adopted unique training methods and incorporated the advanced concept of “Constitutional AI,” which guides the model’s behavior through a predefined set of rules (the “constitution”), making it more aligned with ethical standards and significantly reducing bias. Claude has a wide range of functionalities, easily handling various tasks such as natural language understanding, content generation, and dialogue systems, suitable for multiple application scenarios, showcasing its strong practicality and adaptability. This section briefly introduces Claude’s functionalities, usage methods, techniques, and precautions to help users better understand and use Claude, thereby enhancing their life and work efficiency.
LLaMA (Meta AI):LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI) is a large-scale language model developed by Meta AI (formerly Facebook), aimed at improving the performance of natural language processing tasks. LLaMA incorporates several innovations in model structure, such as using the RMSNorm normalization function, SwiGLU activation function, and rotary position encoding (RoPE), to enhance model performance and stability. Its open-source nature makes LLaMA easy for developers to use and improve, widely applied in intelligent customer service, content recommendation, text creation, and other fields. As technology continues to advance, the LLaMA series models are also constantly iterating and upgrading, demonstrating strong competitiveness and application prospects. This section briefly introduces its basic functionalities and methods, aiming to help users better understand and use LLaMA to fully leverage its powerful capabilities, enhancing life and work efficiency.
Copilot (GitHub, Microsoft, OpenAI):The Copilot model is an AI-based intelligent assistance tool designed to improve programming and office efficiency. This model was developed in collaboration between GitHub and OpenAI and is widely used across platforms such as Microsoft 365. Currently, the latest version of the Copilot model has been released, where GitHub Copilot continuously optimizes code generation and programming assistance features, capable of more accurately understanding developers’ intentions and generating code that meets project requirements. Meanwhile, Microsoft Copilot, as part of Microsoft 365, integrates advanced large language models like GPT-4 Turbo, providing users with an intelligent assistance experience across applications, supporting multiple office software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and offering personalized work suggestions based on user habits and preferences. Overall, the latest version of the Copilot model has significantly improved in functionality, performance, and user experience, becoming a powerful tool in programming and office domains. This section briefly introduces its basic functionalities and methods, aiming to help users better understand and use Copilot to fully leverage its powerful capabilities, enhancing life and work efficiency.
