Course Introduction

In the “Opinions on Promoting New Urban Infrastructure Construction to Create Resilient Cities” issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2024, it mentions intelligent municipal services, smart cities, smart residential areas, digital homes, CIM, etc. Future urban construction cannot be separated from “intelligence”. This course will focus on artificial intelligence and urban planning, sharing cases of urban planning analysis using artificial neural networks.
This course will teach you step-by-step how to use artificial neural networks for urban spatial analysis, suitable for urban planning students, practitioners, or researchers with no programming background. The course will start with artificial neural networks and deep learning, explaining the application of neural network algorithms in urban planning; it will provide hands-on teaching to implement an artificial neural network model and use this model for seasonal recognition of street view images and urban spatial recognition.

Learning Mode Description

  • Evening of December 30, 2024: Course materials will be distributed.

  • December 31, 2024-January 30, 2025:

    Watch recorded teaching videos totaling about 3 class hours; recorded videos can only be played on computers and require a student-specific authorization code provided by us. The computer must have a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 system, and course videos and other materials can be played on a maximum of 2 computers. If you are using an Apple OS system, you need to install a virtual Windows 10 or 11 system on your computer.

  • January 30, 2025: Q&A service ends, and if needed, students can contact customer service for an electronic graduation certificate. The course video is valid for 4 years (starting from the date of distribution of course materials), and during the validity period, the video can be watched repeatedly without limit.
