I recently discovered a useful plugin, Roo Cline. This time, Roo Cline is a branch of Cline, and it is said to be smoother and faster. Let me teach you how to configure it in three minutes!
If you don’t understand what I’m talking about, don’t worry. Just follow the steps below, and in three minutes, you can use a highly cost-effective AI programming tool!
1. Install VS Code
First, install vscode. You can download it from the official VS Code website:

Mine is the Mac version, and I directly downloaded the Apple silicon version.
2. Install Roo Cline Plugin
After installing VS Code, please search for the Roo Cline plugin in the plugin installation section and click the first one to install it.
3. Click to Configure Roo Cline
Click the small rocket icon on the left side to enter the Roo Cline plugin.
Click the settings button in the upper right corner of the plugin to configure.
Start configuring (for the apikey setting in the second step, please refer to the fourth step)
4. Configure DeepSeek’s API Key
Open and log in to the following link: https://platform.deepseek.com/api_keys
You will see the applied API key (⚠️ Note to save it, as it can only be viewed once; if forgotten, you must reapply):
Paste the applied API key into the third step.
