Lesson 1: Introduction to Gephi Software and Interface
Gephi is a data visualization processing software in the field of network analysis, with the hope of becoming the “Photoshop of the data visualization field”. This video mainly explains the development platform of Gephi, its main application directions, and the basic composition of the software interface.
Lesson 2: Basic Operations in Gephi
Based on case data – land balance sheet, this lesson demonstrates how to organize and import data into Gephi, and then perform visualization operations in the software, using node size to indicate different land area sizes and color to distinguish land types, ultimately rendering the graph.
Lesson 3: Applying Geographic Layout in Gephi
Based on case data – flight schedule, this lesson demonstrates how to add the geographic locations of various cities to the table and apply geographic layout in Gephi, using node size to indicate the frequency of flights in different cities, and edge color to indicate flight duration, ultimately rendering the graph.
Lesson 4: Post-Processing Gephi Outputs
The images generated directly by Gephi’s renderer may not meet our aesthetic requirements, so we need to import them into software like AI and PS for post-processing to make the images more stunning. This chapter’s video demonstrates how to process the flight data from the previous lesson, importing it into AI for layering, and then into PS for graphic processing, ultimately achieving the desired effect.
