Hello everyone! We have previously discussed a series of concepts regarding AI Agents, one key feature being their process automation capability. Sometimes, when we execute a complex task, it may require multiple executions of different ChatGPT prompts. In such cases, an automated process can significantly enhance our work efficiency.
Today, I will introduce to you an efficient process-oriented AI tool solution: combining GPT and Make to easily create a simple yet powerful Agent.
So, what is Make?
Make is an online automation platform that contains over a thousand different applications. These applications can be flexibly combined to accomplish various tasks.
The “no-code automation” concept of Make ensures that even if you have no programming background, you can easily build complex and efficient automation processes using its intuitive interface.
Like other tools, Make has its own unique terminology, which we won’t delve into today, but if you’re interested in learning more, the official website’s help documentation is an excellent resource.
What can be achieved by combining Make and GPT?
ChatGPT can already help you generate articles, reports, or other content. If we introduce Make, this content can be produced in bulk, automatically generated, and published directly to your website or social media. Isn’t that great? Moreover, this entire process can run automatically around the clock, which is undoubtedly an extremely efficient and convenient way for individual creators.
How to register an account?
First, you need to register for your own Make account using my exclusive link: https://goo.su/r99o, which will give you a free month of Make’s Pro plan, including 10,000 task operations.
How to create your first automation process?
01
Define Requirements
What we hope to automate: Enter some book titles for which we want to write reviews in Google Sheets, and ChatGPT will automatically generate a review topic for each book, finally saving the generated topics into a file.
Additional Note: For clarity in this tutorial, I will choose a lightweight example for demonstration. The focus should be on how to use Make and how Make and GPT can be combined. Other questions can wait for my follow-up tutorials or community discussions. This chapter contains no prompt-writing techniques.
02
Process Planning
Based on the requirements above and understanding of Make’s capabilities, we will complete the construction of this automation process in the following steps:
Step 1: Read the task list from Google Sheets and identify the book titles that need reviews.
Step 2: Let GPT generate one review topic based on the read titles, including the title and writing ideas for the review.
Step 3: Save the generated review topics to Google Sheets.
03
Design Implementation
Preparation: Create Google Sheets and the scenario.
1. First, create a new Google Sheet and create two Sheets: “Book Titles” and “Topics.” Add the corresponding titles in cell A1 of each Sheet. Next, complete the four steps to build the automation process.
2. Create a Make automation scenario.

Step 1: Create the first module – Read Book Titles
1. Click the plus sign to start creating the first automation process.
2. In the search box, enter “Google” and select the “Google Sheets” service.
3. Choose the “Watch New Rows” option, which allows Make to automatically read newly added book titles in the sheet.
4. Log in to your Gmail account and select the previously created Google Sheets.
5. Select the “Book Titles” Sheet.

Step 2: Add a new module – GPT generates topics
1. Hover over the right side of the first module and click the plus sign that appears.
2. In the application search bar, enter “ChatGPT” and select it.
3. Select the “Create a Completion” option from ChatGPT.
4. Configure OpenAI’s API and click the plus sign to start configuring the prompt.
Note: The book titles in the prompt should be automatically inserted by clicking the option on the right, so that the book title can be parameterized and obtained from Google Sheets without needing to modify the prompt manually each time.

Reference Prompt
You have an extraordinary ability to select engaging and highly shareable writing content in the online environment.
Now, please carefully choose an easily spreadable book review topic that best meets the publishing needs of self-media platforms for [Book Title].
The book review should start from a specific character, phenomenon, or event, deriving a theme worth writing a review.
The input format should be as follows:
Book Review Title: xxxx
Book Review Ideas: xxxxx
Step 3: Add a module – Save ChatGPT generated book review topics
1. Hover over the right side of the second module and click the plus sign that appears.
2. In the application search bar, enter “Google” and select the Google Sheets service.
3. In the Google Sheets service, select “Add a Row” to insert a new record in the sheet.
4. Please carefully review the last screenshot, especially the location in the red box in step two, which shows the results generated by ChatGPT. You need to match the results to the Google Sheets saving cell.

Step 4: Configuration complete, test it
1. Add two new records in the “Book Titles” Sheet of Google Sheets.
2. In the Make tool interface, click “Run Once”.
3. Wait for all modules to finish executing.
4. Return to Google Sheets, open the “Topics” Sheet, and check the generated results.

We have just completed a simple automation process task. The case itself is relatively basic, but it can fully reflect the capabilities of Make, as Make has thousands of applications similar to Google Sheets. Once we learn this approach, its extensibility is very strong.
The most intuitive example is that this process can be seamlessly expanded to the entire lifecycle of article and novel creation: from topic selection, outlining, writing the main text, to publishing the finished product on various platforms.
Finally, I will share a demo video (no sound) demonstrating the effect of going from book titles directly to complete review articles. Due to some technical reasons, the video quality is not great, and for a better HD effect, join the WeChat group.

Conclusion
The development of AI technology will create a large number of super individuals. These super individuals need to have strong self-management skills and efficiently complete their work without wasting time on tedious and complex workflows.
If you also aim to be a super individual, mastering workflow automation is very important. It can not only free you from boring repetitive tasks but also make your work more efficient and organized.
In this fiercely competitive era, to stand out, we must learn to use advanced technologies to optimize our work and lives. Take action now! Let’s learn how to use these powerful tools to make our time more valuable!
