1. Tool Introduction
1.1 Main Features
ACT（Atman Cloud Translation, Atman Cloud Translation）is an online translation tool focused on the medical field, helping professionals in the pharmaceutical industry and professional translators to break free from cumbersome CAT tools, quickly improving translation speed and accuracy. The self-developed medical machine translation engine by Atman is trained on hundreds of millions of biomedical corpora and has won the first place in the international machine translation evaluation (WMT) biomedical track in 2019 and 2020.
1.2 Features
Atman Cloud Translation has the following four major features:
1) Atman Medical Machine Translation Solution
The Atman Medical Machine Translation Solution is available in three modes: SaaS, dedicated cloud, and private deployment.
·SaaS: Online account activation, ready to use; pay per usage; timely updates and upgrades to products and services.
· Dedicated Cloud: Exclusive cloud computing resources; annual payment, regular updates and upgrades; can configure 4 engines, customizable engines; on-demand support for single sign-on, API integration, workflow integration, etc.
· Private Deployment: Deployed in the client’s internal IT environment; paid maintenance and upgrades.
2) Engine Training
If users accumulate rich corpora in their daily work, these corpora can be used to train their custom engines, resulting in translations that better align with the user’s language habits and professional standards. (Only dedicated cloud and private deployment support custom engines.)
3) Quality and Efficiency Assessment Plan
Atman can help enterprises assess the quality, efficiency, and cost savings of human-machine collaboration, choosing a more suitable human-machine collaboration plan. The process is illustrated in the figure below.
4) Integration with Workflow (RPA)
In daily work, translation is never a separate link; it is inevitably related to document processing tasks, such as formatting adjustments, filling forms, organizing files, etc. Many document processing tasks are highly repetitive, low value-added, and time-consuming. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can replace manual work to complete these tasks.
In addition,ATMAN also features batch renaming of registered files (for batch modification of file names that comply with CDE/the National Medical Products Administration’s Drug Review Center standards),word document conversion tools, and automatic generation of SUSAR (Suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reaction) report summaries.

2.1 Login

2) Login Methods
You can log in directly using WeChat, or register with a mobile number/email before logging in, as shown in the figure below.
2.2 Text Translation
1) Enter or copy-paste text into the original text box, and the current word count will be recorded in the bottom right corner, as shown in the figure below.
2) If it exceeds2000 words, a prompt will appear, and excess content will be automatically deleted, as shown in the figure below.
3) Sentence Merging Function
When the translation content entered in the original text box is fragmented, the system will automatically merge it; if not needed, it can be manually restored by clicking, as shown in the figure below.
4) Original and Translated Text Comparison Function
Click “Translate Now” to get the translated text.
When hovering over the original or translated sentence, the corresponding original text will be highlighted for comparison, as shown in the figure below.
5) Translation Proofreading
If proofreading is needed, click the “Proofread Translation Result” in the bottom right corner of the translation box to enter the editing state, as shown in the figure below.
As shown in the figure, during proofreading, you can choose the machine translation recommended results, or manually edit the proofreading, and repeat the proofreading editing. After proofreading is completed, click “Confirm Completion” as shown in the figure below:
6) Translation Word Count Statistics
The word count of the translation box is displayed in real-time in the bottom right corner, as shown in the figure below:
7) Translation Copy
The translation can be obtained through the “One-Click Copy” function, and there will be a prompt after successful copying, as shown in the figure below.
8) One-Click Clear Original Text
If you want to change the translation original text content, just click the x button in the upper right corner of the original text box, as shown in the figure below:
9) Translation Records
Translation records can be kept for10 items and can also be manually cleared. Click on any record to re-translate that content, as shown in the figure below:
For translation records, you can also delete individual items; click edit, then select the content to delete, as shown in the figure below.
2.3 Document Translation
1) Select Document Translation Function
2) Upload File
Click “Select File” to upload the file that needs to be translated, as shown in the figure below:
Before machine translation, you can manually select the medical field of the original text, as shown in the figure below:
3) Document Translation
Click “Translate Now,” and the language direction, translation status, etc., will be displayed in the taskbar below. The translation process requires a brief wait:
4) Translation Download
After translation is complete, click the download button to download the translated text, as shown in the figure below:
5) Online Reading
After translation is complete, you can also click the “eye” button for online reading of the original and translated text, as shown in the figure below:
3. Learning Insights
The Atman online translation tool shows superior accuracy and coherence when translating content in the pharmaceutical field compared to other translation software, which is its advantage as a specialized translation tool focused on the medical field. For me personally, since I studied biotechnology in my undergraduate studies, coupled with my graduate studies in English, I have always aimed for a career in drug safety monitoring and participated in some trial translations for this position. I believe this online translation tool can greatly assist me in understanding the original text:1) In terms of terminology, Atman’s translation results are very accurate. If I want to further understand the meaning of a term, I only need to paste the translation for search, avoiding the inefficiency of directly searching in English or incorrect translations.2) The coherence and logic of the translation are good, allowing me to quickly grasp the main idea of the original text, aiding me in making further refinements.
