Suno is currently a leading tool in the global music creation field, comparable to giants like GPT, Midjourney, and Sora.
You can open www.suno.ai ( available for use in China ) and click Make a song to use Suno.
Suno Registration Guide
1. The first time you log in, you will be asked to register. You can click on the Microsoft Live account (available for use in China), register and log in, and link it to Suno to register for use.
2. After registration, you become a free user, with 50 credits per day (1500 credits per month), allowing you to generate music 5 times (150 times per month), and create 10 songs (300 songs per month).
3. If you want more credits, do not want daily limits, and wish to use more complex features, you can become a paid user. A yearly subscription to Pro is $8 per month, providing 2500 credits with no daily usage limits. Additionally, paid users receive commercial licenses for the generated songs.
Suno Usage Guide
You can have Suno randomly create lyrics to generate music or customize it. It is recommended to customize, that is, select Custom Mode.
1. Input Lyrics
1. Lyrics can be created by yourself or you can let AI help you create them. It is recommended to use Kimi, and also to add elements from Wenzhou in the lyrics, as this can lead to good songs that can participate in competitions. See: A Letter to Music Lovers Worldwide.
2. It is advisable for those who want to create perfect music to learn about song structure beforehand, and you can consult Kimi. Below is a simple demonstration, with the song lasting about 2 minutes.
3. Punctuation can be included in the lyrics, but Suno officially recommends not adding punctuation at the end of each line. In practice, not adding punctuation at the end allows AI to sing more flexibly, possibly combining lyrics without punctuation breaks.
4. In the lyrics, every 4 lines form a block, and you can add tags like [verse] [chorus] [outro] at the front (which will not be sung).
5. Do not input too many lyrics at once; the official recommendation is to input 4-8 lines each time, which is 1-2 blocks. Therefore, you should plan ahead or prepare mentally, as you will need to generate music at least twice to get a complete song.
6. Currently, songs generated by Suno often have unclear or incorrect singing in the first few words, so it is best not to write key words or phrases at the beginning of the lyrics.
7. Suno seems to not recognize some Chinese characters, so if there are homophones or obscure characters, be sure to replace them with homophones to avoid AI mispronouncing or skipping them. For example, the character “斛” in “石斛” is not recognized by AI and will be skipped, but using “湖” it will be sung. The same applies to the end of the song.
Additionally, you can turn on Instrumental to generate only accompaniment without vocals.
2. Choose Style
1. You can let AI randomly generate music styles, or you can customize the style.
2. When customizing the style, the simpler the keywords, the greater the AI’s freedom of creativity. My early experience suggested inputting multiple short phrases as keywords to limit the song style from different dimensions. For example:
pop, male, fast (male singing a fast pop song)
male, slow, emotional (male singing a slow emotional song)
More experiences are welcome to share. My email: [email protected]
3. Choose Engine
The higher the version, the better. Currently, the mainstream engine is V2, which everyone can use. V3 Alpha has begun testing and is prioritized for paid users. In practice, V3A is indeed better, with improved sound quality and musical style.
4. Set Name
The song name is mainly displayed in the Library. It can be changed later, so it’s not a big issue.
5. Generate Music
After completing the above settings, click Create, each time consuming 10 credits, and then generate two segments of music.
Suno is a generative AI, so the results it provides are like opening a blind box under limited conditions. If you carefully read what I wrote earlier, the quality of the music you generate should not be too poor.
The generated music will be displayed in the Library, where you can like songs (marking them helps you find good song segments), and you can also delete song segments (which can be retrieved from the trash).
If you have low requirements, then the incomplete content generated the first time is already cool enough to show to friends. But if you want to create a perfect song, you will need to continue reading.
6. Iterate Music
You can listen to the music you generated in the Library, and after selecting satisfactory song segments, based on them, click Continue from this song to enter subsequent lyrics and continue creating the second or third stanza until the song is complete.
To be honest, since AI generates content randomly, there is a high level of unpredictability here. If the probability of generating a good song in the first round of selection is 50%, then the second round becomes 25%, and the third round is 12.5%. The probability keeps decreasing. In reality, the probability is even lower because you may not like any of the generated content and can only regenerate under the same settings or Remix.
Beyond that is an endless cycle of drawing cards, opening blind boxes, staying up late, and continuously honing your ear. Of course, this process is enjoyable, after all, it’s music, and each segment is different, releasing dopamine continuously.
We all learned a term called “妙手偶得” (a stroke of genius), creating AI music with Suno is just that.
7. Complete Music
Whether we find a satisfactory combination, or we can’t continue, or we run out of credits, or the competition submission deadline arrives, we compare and complete the music. At this point, we need to click Get Whole Song at the last segment of satisfactory music to obtain a complete song with a Full Song icon.
8. Share Music
Then you can share your work. You can click the share icon next to the song in the Library to send it to friends, who can see the song with lyrics when they open it.
You can also directly download Video or Audio, and send the files to friends.
You can also download Audio and import it into editing tools like JIANYING APP for post-editing, combining images and videos, automatically generating subtitles to create an AI music video (MV). Here is an MV that I made and liked, welcome to watch.
Finally, I also made a 3-minute quick experience video, welcome to check it out.
