JetBrains announced that all IntelliJ-based IDEs and .NET tools will integrate a new feature: AI Assistant, stating that it will be integrated into the core workflow of the IDE, especially leveraging JetBrains IDE’s strong point — deep integration of code understanding with AI.
According to the introduction, these AI features are powered by JetBrains AI services. This service connects various large language models (LLM) and enables specific AI-driven features within JetBrains products. The service also supports OpenAI, and in the future, JetBrains plans to collaborate with more AI model providers to offer users the best options and models.
Additionally, JetBrains plans to support local (including deployable locally) models; however, the feature set supported by these models is limited.
