Ali’s Tongyi Wanxiang: The Best AI Painting Tool for Beginners

There are really too many AI painting video tools on the market now, so many that I even have difficulty choosing.

Although these tools have tried to lower the barriers to use for ordinary people, based on the current level of various AI painting video tools, they are actually all quite similar. Given this, I compared all the AI painting video products from both domestic and international sources against these three points, and in the end, only one remains: Ali’s Tongyi Wanxiang. It meets all the criteria; it’s not Keling, nor is it Jimeng. Keling is too expensive, and Jimeng is a bit too complicated. Tongyi Wanxiang has the most comprehensive capabilities.

Tongyi Wanxiang has both a PC version and a mobile app. On the PC side, logging in daily gives you 50 inspiration points. Each image creation costs 1 point, and each video creation costs 5 points.

Note, here comes the key point— the mobile app has no limit on usage; you can use it completely for free!

Since the mobile app’s usage logic is exactly the same as the PC version, but the PC version is more suitable for teaching, I will guide you through the PC interface. Text Painting

Let’s start by discussing the text painting feature of Tongyi Wanxiang.

The prompt words in Tongyi Wanxiang support both Chinese and English; we can just describe it in Chinese.

We enter the prompt “A beautiful ancient woman standing in the snow” into the prompt box. This prompt is a bit simple, so we can click on Intelligent Rewrite to polish it up; the hassle of writing prompts is gone.

This prompt is written really well; I won’t change it. I will directly click on Use Rewrite Result, then we select the aspect ratio 16:9, check the inspiration mode to enhance the richness of the image, and finally click on Generate Artwork.

After waiting for a while, no more than 1 minute, Tongyi Wanxiang generates 4 beautiful images for us, which are very fitting to our prompt. You can download one you like without a watermark.

Below the text painting section, there is a Creative Template, where you can choose the style of the image you want outside of the prompt words. There are many choices; select one that suits your preference.

Further down, there is a Reference Image function, which can reference content and style. This function is a bit useless; I don’t use it much because it restricts too much, and the resulting images often don’t look good…

By the way, there is a Spell Book next to the prompt box, which is actually a collection of fixed prompt words that can control light, scene, angle, etc., in finer detail. Beginners should avoid it; it’s a bit complex. The prompt words that Tongyi Wanxiang helps us rewrite already cover these aspects.

The text painting function is very simple; just knowing these is completely sufficient.

Video Generation

Next, let’s talk about the video generation function of Tongyi Wanxiang (AI Video), which is also very simple.

The video generation consists of two parts: Text to Video and Image to Video.

Text to Video

Similar to text painting, just enter the prompt in the prompt box to generate a video segment.

If you feel the prompt is too simple, you can also use Intelligent Rewrite to enrich the prompt.

Inspiration mode is usually checked, just like in text painting. The key point to mention is the Video Sound Effects option; this option should also be checked, as it allows the generated video to have background sound effects, which is not available in other AI video tools. Tongyi Wanxiang is unique in this regard; it’s impressive! Let’s take a look at the video we just generated.

Image to Video

If you want to constrain the video with an existing image in addition to the prompt, you need to use Image to Video, and we need to upload a reference image as a supplement.

Other parameters are the same as for Text to Video, then click to generate the video. Currently, there are quite a few people using Tongyi Wanxiang for free, so the waiting time will be a bit longer, around 10 minutes to generate.

If we check the first and last frames, we can also generate videos using the first and last frames. The first and last frames mean that we only need to provide the first and last images in the video, then supplement the prompt, and Tongyi Wanxiang can automatically fill in the middle scenes; it’s very convenient.
