Without any warm-up, the Chinese version of Midjourney (hereinafter referred to as MJCN) opened two rounds of internal testing invitations this week. By simply scanning the invitation code with QQ, you can use Midjourney optimized for Chinese commands in the QQ channel, significantly lowering the usage threshold.

After two rounds of internal testing recruitment, MJCN has temporarily paused its recruitment plan. Staff stated that the next recruitment time has not been determined, and relevant information will be announced in the channel. We will synchronize relevant information with everyone as soon as possible.
At the same time, to help everyone create better after joining the internal test, we consulted friends who have never used Midjourney and experienced users of Discord Midjourney, combined with the official guide, we have compiled the 10 most important questions to pay attention to when getting started.
Note that MJCN is still in the internal testing phase, and the experience will iterate multiple times based on user feedback, so answers are for reference only.
Q: What are the differences between MJCN and Discord MJ?
A: The biggest difference between MJCN and Discord MJ is the optimized Chinese model, which performs better with Chinese commands on MJCN. However, MJCN is still in internal testing, and there are no preset commands on the desktop version, and features like /blend, /describe, etc., available on Discord MJ are also not online.
MJCN plans to migrate all features from Discord MJ to QQ channels and mini-programs, looking forward to future updates.
Q: I have entered the channel, where should I create?
A: After applying, you will be assigned to a dedicated sub-channel, with each sub-channel limited to 500 people, allowing for faster image generation speeds.
In addition to the dedicated sub-channel, there are two beginner sub-channels: regular and comic, where all channel members can see the creations. You can learn from others’ command writing methods here to optimize your creations.
Q: How many images can I create, is there a limit?
A: Each user can experience 25 free image generations; note that it is not 25 images.
In other words, every time you generate, adjust, or modify, it will consume experience counts. If you adjust an image an average of 5 times, you will only be able to create 5 images for free.
Q: How can I make others unable to see the images I create?
A: Join the subscription service.
All paid members at any tier provide the service of “private chat bot image generation (DM to the bot)”; the 25 free generation opportunities are all public in the channel.
However, many people will retract commands after obtaining images, so free opportunities can also be made temporarily public (although MJCN does not encourage this).
Q: What is the pricing for the subscription service, and how do I purchase it?
A: MJCN offers three different subscription services priced at 68 yuan, 198 yuan, and 398 yuan.
In any channel, input the command “/subscribe”, and the bot will privately message you a dedicated payment QR code. You can scan it using mobile QQ or long press the QR code in mobile QQ to recognize and pay.
Although MJCN has passed QQ channel brand certification, its entity is not the official Midjourney. We have inquired the official about this issue and have not received a response yet. It is recommended to treat monetary transactions with caution.
Q: What other subscription services does MJCN offer besides the private chat bot?

For example, if you want MJCN to generate different styles of avatars based on your photos, you will need to subscribe to at least the standard version at 198 yuan per month.
Q: How should I ask questions?
A: You can ask questions in both public channels and dedicated beginner channels.
Just start with “@Midjourney-testing” or “/imagine” followed by keywords, and the bot will start creating based on your description. About a minute later (if there is no queue), the bot will generate 4 thumbnails for you.
The basic description words are:
1.@Midjourney-testing + text description, summon the bot to generate images. Example: @Midjourney-testing a butterfly flying in the fields;
2.@Midjourney-testing + /comic + text description, use the comic (Niji) mode to generate images. Example: @Midjourney-testing /comic Elsa playing in the snow.
Q: How do I adjust the generated images?
A: MJCN provides 3 ways to adjust images:
1.U (Upscale): enlarge a specific image, if you want to enlarge the 3rd photo, you should reply to the thumbnail “U3”;
2.V (Variation): change a specific image, if you are satisfied with a specific image and want to continue creating based on it, reply “V3” to continue creating based on the generated 3rd image.
3.R (Remix): directional modification, if you want to change a keyword, reply “R original word modification word” to refine the adjustment. For example, if you want to change “sunset” to “sunrise” in the first image “sea, sunset, oil painting style”, you need to input the command “R1 sunset sunrise”.
Q: What features does the MJCN mini-program have?
A: MJCN has collected all the images you have previously generated in a gallery, and features like generating images from images that QQ channels cannot currently support have been placed in the mini-program. Additionally, the mini-program also includes a simple getting started guide.
Q: Why were my commands deleted/modified?
A: MJ bot will determine if commands are appropriate, and if inappropriate commands appear, they will be modified. MJCN officially encourages the use of Chinese commands for creation; from personal experience, the probability of deletion is higher when inputting English commands.
If you believe the command is correct, you can provide feedback in the official error report form for timely correction by the official team.
Formal Imagination: Good Commands Should Be Written This Way
I believe that if you browse through the comments of others in the channel, you will find how important a good command is.

A command for MJ is generally composed of several short words. Here is a simple command framework: by following this framework, your commands won’t be too bad (this also applies to the English version): “imagine subject, characteristics, environment, style, tone, settings”.
Subject: What do you want to draw? A person, a city, or a cat;
Characteristics: What characteristics does the subject have? Dressed in white, modern technology, or short-legged orange fur?
Environment: Weather, atmosphere, perspective, composition;
Style: Realistic style or illustration style? Pop Mart or cyberpunk?
Tone: Warm tone or cool tone?
Settings: Aspect ratio (–ar), stylization (–s1000), version (–v5).
For instance, when I want to draw a playful cat, I can use “cat, white short legs, running, sunny park at dusk by the river, realistic scene” to generate the image.
Commands are the core of AI painting; good commands can create excellent works. The above commands are not universal; it is recommended to use them only when starting and to continuously adjust according to your needs to achieve the best results.
MJCN also shares many excellent works in the community; reading others’ excellent commands and learning is also a good way to improve yourself.

Although there may be copyright and legality issues, if it is only for personal appreciation, these artists’ names are a good shortcut.
