Preface
Knowledge Graph, as an important branch in the field of artificial intelligence, provides strong support for solving the problem of how to effectively organize, store, and retrieve information with its unique structure and powerful semantic expression capabilities. Below, the editor will detail the concept, development history, and the construction situation of knowledge graphs in our school.

Concept of Knowledge Graph
“Graph” refers to an atlas compiled by class, used to better understand things through images.
“Knowledge Graph (Knowledge Graph)” was first proposed by Google in 2012, which connects all different types of information into a relationship network. It is a method of structuring, organizing, and representing knowledge, using graphical models to represent the relationships and attributes between things. Its original intention was to optimize the results returned by search engines and enhance the quality and experience of user searches.

Course Knowledge Graph Platform Construction Plan As shown in Figure 3, the left side of the figure represents the architecture of the course knowledge graph platform, and the right side represents the composition structure of the course knowledge graph. The platform consists of a data layer, model construction layer, and application layer; the entities of the course knowledge graph can be divided into teaching resources layer, knowledge point layer, and course layer.

Development History of Knowledge Graph
Knowledge Graph is not a technology that suddenly appeared, but rather the result of the mutual influence and inheritance of many related technologies throughout history, as shown in Figure 4, including semantic networks, knowledge representation, ontology, Semantic Web, and natural language processing, which have genetic contributions from multiple fields such as the Web, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing.

Construction Situation in Our School
Since the establishment of the course knowledge graph in 2023, our school has built knowledge graphs for 18 courses, including “Ophthalmology” and “Biotechnology and Pharmacy” around core key majors such as biological pharmacy, optometry, and clinical medicine, sorting out 1877 knowledge points and 867 course-related questions.

The knowledge graph is not only a technical concept but also a powerful tool that can help us effectively organize, manage, and apply information in different fields and scenarios.

We must strengthen the overall organization of major scientific and technological tasks concerning national security and the overall development of the economy and society, and enhance the construction of national strategic scientific and technological forces. We must accelerate the construction of a scientific and technological safety early warning monitoring system, focusing on artificial intelligence, gene editing, medical diagnosis, autonomous driving, drones, service robots, and other fields, and expedite the relevant legislative work.
