Huawei Wireless CTO Tong Wen: Reconstructing 6G Core Network Based on Agentic-AI

Recently, Huawei Wireless CTO Dr. Tong Wen delivered a report at the Abu Dhabi 6G summit, explaining the design and evolution of the 6G core network. The 6G public account (ID: sixgmobile) learned that Dr. Tong proposed considering reconstructing the 6G core based on Agentic-AI technology. He introduced the 6G core network called A-Core based on Agentic-AI technology.
He stated, “A-Core seamlessly integrates ‘application creation’ and ‘custom network generation’, which helps redefine the role of mobile network operators in the ICT ecosystem and explore new business opportunities beyond traditional connectivity.
First, how does A-Core change the role of mobile network operators in the ICT ecosystem? The 6G public account (ID: sixgmobile) learned that he indicated that utilizing Agentic-AI to achieve automatic generation of APP allows operators to re-enter the App creation field, rather than just providing support for OTT services; moreover, A-Core can leverage advancements in ‘generative networks’ to customize network configurations based on specific application needs, thus directly and effectively improving network performance and user experience, enhancing the connection and collaboration between operators and application services.
As a result, A-Core can also bring new business models and profit opportunities for mobile network operators. The 6G public account (ID: sixgmobile) learned that he analyzed that A-Core allows operators to directly build and deliver unique App to users, monetizing the App tailored for users; additionally, with the help of the A-Core platform, operators can combine various OTT services with user value-added services, creating new revenue sources from user payments; again, by utilizing A-Core, operators can provide customized ‘generative network’ services through open API, generating revenue from the massive usage of API by users.
Furthermore, from the perspective of OTT service providers, A-Core has significant advantages, such as improving service quality (QoS) and security through customized networks, as well as complying with local data regulations.
So what is the vision for the new core network in the 6G era? “’A-Core‘ bridges the gap between ‘connectivity’ and ‘applications’, enabling mobile network operators to further enhance their competitiveness. With its ability to generate application creation and customize networks, ‘A-Core‘ opens up new revenue sources for operators, redefines the value chain, and positions operators as ‘core participants in the 6G ecosystem’.” Dr. Tong Wen passionately envisaged.
